In 1998, Karen McDonald, along with her partner Cathy Kelly, set about creating a space that showcased a tiny hair studio with three chairs that provided the West Portal community an alternative to a downtown salon. For 14 years, Studio Redz thrived until it was lost to a neighborhood fire in October of 2012.

After working with Kelli Simmons at Face to Face Salon for 5 years, Karen eventually decided to relocate, and Studio Redz was reborn into a beautiful new space in the heart of San Francisco’s charming West Portal Village. 

 

We are a creative, passionate team of hairstylists committed to providing the best in professional care and celebrating your unique style. From our creativity and professional knowledge to the product lines we choose to partner with, honing our skills, and knowing our products is paramount. We carry luxury brands such as Kevin.Murphy, Color Wow and Olaplex. 

 

We are now a Kevin.Murphy Session.Salon. A SESSION.SALON is selective and unapologetic about its exclusivity. It’s a group of haircare professionals who are leaders in their salons and admired by their peers. Its cult like nature impacts the way we look and the way we communicate.
